President and CEO of Goodcity
Jimmy serves as the President and CEO of Goodcity – a Chicago non-profit that identifys and grows social entrepreneurs who are making a difference in under-resourced communities in the Chicago area. Jimmy comes to Goodcity with vast experience in the government and nonprofit industries both locally and globally. Before he joined Goodcity, Jimmy was the former Executive Director for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, a member of the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, a Special Assistant to the Governor (State of Illinois), and also the former Executive Director for the Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce. In 2009, he was named one of Crain’s 40 Under 40 following his bid for the United States Congress in the 11th Congressional District of Illinois. Along with many other recognitions and accolades, Jimmy has helped to start numerous companies and organizations including Create Possible, re:source global, Global Executive Leadership Forum, the US Asian Business Council, Renew Chicago, the National Center for Community Development, GoodWorkChicago, INVEST Chicago, and IDEASHARE. He and his wife Sarah and daughter Reagan live in the University Village community of Chicago.
